Super Heroes

The National Health Supporters choir (NHSC) released their charity single, Super Heroes, on Sun3rd July 2022 to coincide with the NHS' 74th Birthday.

NHSC are a non-audition choir made up of NHS staff and supporters. It is a choir with a political focus, centred on supporting NHS staff and raising awareness about threats to the survival of the NHS.

Super Heroes is a choral arrangement of an original song by Rony Berrebi, an NHS intensive care doctor at London Northwest University Healthcare Trust. His version of Super Heroes was written, recorded and released in 2020 and to date has raised £9000 for life-changing mental health and PTSD treatment for frontline NHS staff who were caring for COVID-19 patients. He himself has witnessed three of his colleagues die of COVID, and many are in tears after their shifts and at high risk of PTSD.

This new arrangement by NHSC choir director Jenny Deacon (Sweet Charity Choir, The Lounge Kittens) was written, recorded and mastered remotely while NHSC could not meet in person.
