2022 Recap NHSC had a very busy year! We released our charity single, Super Heroes, on the NHS' birthday and raised over £600 for the Intensive Care Society and Healthcare Workers' Foundation, who support NHS staff mental health and wellbeing. The single is still available to buy or stream, and you can find the video here. We were also delighted to be invited to sing at the opening of the #SOSNHS Conference, which was a fantastic event. Keep Our NHS Public, Health Campaigns Together, NHS Workers Say No, We Own It, several trade unions and many other campaigns came together to form the largest ever coalition committed to end the crisis in the NHS. You can find out more about it at www.sosnhs.org. NHSC again joined the Big Christmas Wind Orchestra and Choir at Granary Square in Kings Cross. It was a fantastic (if cold!) event, and we are already looking forward to the next one! We also did some carol singing at the Royal London Hospital, where we fundraised for a local charity, and also visited a care home to sing for the residents. NHSC's version of O Come All Ye Faithful was also selected to be played on Care Radio over the festive period - this is from a selection of Christmas songs that we recorded remotely during lockdown, and make available free of charge to care settings. NHSC have also been out supporting our striking healthcare colleagues on the picket lines. Our version of Fight Song was used for a short video about the action.

NHSC members were also delighted to join our Choir Director Jenny Deacon and her Sweet Charity Choir members for The Big Sing this year - it was amazing to be back in a room with such a large group of singers and a live band for the first time since covid.

An additional thank you to everyone who joined us for rehearsals and supported us over these last few difficult years, and who continue to be part of the NHSC family. Particular thanks go to our wonderful choir director Jenny Deacon, and fabulous acting choir director Alice Morgan, for keeping us singing and having fun together this past year.

If you are considering joining a choir, and are not already a member, then NHSC just might be the right fit for you! We are a political choir that is open to all - NHS staff, patients and supporters - with a focus on protecting and supporting our NHS and promoting wellbeing through singing.

If you'd like to join us for a free taster month, just get in touch through our website or via email to info@nhsupporterschoir.co.uk.
